Nope, if you do all the echo log quest you find out that Fleshstick captured and sold (or sold out, or something, shutup) Tina and her parents to the Hyperion corporation for slag testing. Both parents were tortured to death, but Tina managed to escape by throwing a hidden grenade (or piece of TNT) at a wall, and fleeing while her parents were tortured in front of her. The more you know :)
