I rotate the background between 4 different ones I currently have drawn, I also sometimes add sephia tone variants which makes them look different. As far as showing your work goes, I recommend starting off with a throwaway persona online, an art profile you can remove after a while, to post your practice art and current projects to get something out there anonymously, then when you feel like youve become better you can always start a new name and start over properly with the new skills and knowledge.
