there’s too much going on for a comic with almost no character in it. first off, it’s trying to tackle a plethora of different themes and fetishes despite being 4 pages long so the pacing in it is abysmal. take away the decent art and this is the kind of amateur shit that gets 2 comments on rule34.
secondly, design is mostly bad. character faces are either out-of-place (dog that’s looking off into the distance) or needlessly exaggerated. a prime example is how depressed the goth girl looks. obviously it’s a rape comic but compared to the bright colours being used and the immature artstyle it’s too contrasting. it hurts the overall consistency in the comic design. alternatively though, the closeups of the girl’s faces in the middle of the comic is great and suits the mood perfectly.
overall this comic is pretty alright. work on page layout, story pacing and character expression mainly. work with what space/time you have and stop trying to cram every fetish possible in there. definite room to grow.

I can deal with the art style, the story, and the content. The only thing that gets at me is the lines from Ashley of her just wanting to go home. She thought this would just be another round of what she usually does with Fiona, mess with a guy, maybe suck his dick, and get some strong pokemon. Now she is getting fucked by a bunch of guys all at once, getting beaten, and getting fucked and knotted by a dog, (though I don’t have an issue with any of that, it’s pretty normal on this site) and now it seems like they are going to put her into the sex slave business. One of the reasons is probably because most of the time that Shad does it he uses more of teen, or undeveloped adult, looking characters, but in this one they don’t even look like teens they are just kids which paired with the wanting to go home line is even more powerful. Now if I kept up with polyle I’d probably be desensitized to the kids part as well, like I am to shads stuff, as the few times he’s been featured here on shadbase it’s been with young child looking characters. It’s just a matter of having been exposed to the kind of material or not, I guess.

And honestly looking back over it the art style is quite nice with the dark atmosphere definitely lending to giving the reader a more dreary feeling. The fetishes are pretty common for this site, or at least what it used to be. Believe me if you go back to the real early stuff Shad drew some serious torture scenes for girls. I’m actually more surprised that this was able to affect me as I’ve been here since a couple years before the merger of shad and shag and I had been through both of their entire archives, and none of what shad himself drew really ever affected me. Though it might be because most of that focused on sudden torture that you couldn’t see much of the girl’s expression before, or they ended up enjoying it in the same image or shortly after. If I am remembering it right, that is. I might be pulling all of this out of my ass.
TL;DR: While I was surprised it affected me, I think its a well drawn comic that fits reasonably well with shadbase if you know the history of this site.
