This week, id like to paint some Velmas based on her appearance from the newest film. Its a good opportunity to brush up on my more refined painting and try to get more practice in on that. Im going to be updating with new pinups as I get them done, Im not sure how many Ill be able to finish this week, lets see if I am underestimating how long its going to take.
There will of course be lewder ones than this, but I needed to start somewhere, a fully clothed one felt like a good way to get a feel for the character, as usual tell me what you like and dont like about them, so I can adjust my painting style accordingly, lets have a productive week, see you soon with the next one.

Update regarding the Starfire x Raven comic:
I spent the entire friday and Saturday roughing out the final panels, and came to the realisation that the "final page" will need to be split up into 2 pages afterall, they are the most elaborate and lewdest pages of the set, and it would be a shame to rush them now that I am close to wrapping it up. However before tackling the finale of the comic, Im going to take a mental break from it this week and do this Velma thing.

fuck yes velma. but on the artistic side of critique i would say that you neglected the botom half of her. you started verry well u at her face, hair , collar and hands but the further down the eye goes the softer it gets. for example if you compare the transition from the shirt to the skirt the contrast of the collors are rather high and sharp but they dont corelent with the shadowdepth in the folds of her skirt or beneath it. with that it looses deapth and volume. talking about shadows, for the most part your lightsource seemes to be at the top left corner a little towards the viewer but at the right/backside of the skirt it seems to bcome from the right.
what i really like thou is how creamy and silky the sweater looks the folds are verry malleabley doughy, perfect bounce-off highlights on her upper arms.

The face is great. The hair is AMAZING. The only thing that feels off to me is the bust, but I can’t quite say why.
I think it’s the left breast that’s the problem, because it doesn’t appear to really be there, seeing as the other breast takes up a lot of space, and yet her left arm is tugged in, seemingly taking the space that the breast should be filling out. It also doesn’t seem to be getting pushed in any directions, so it ends up just not being there.

I use Paint Tool Sai 2, pretty much the same things as Paint Tool Sai, but it has a very useful recover work function that keeps on saving my canvas when it crashes.
