The original Ellie design was very similar to Ellen Page; it’s not about who played her it’s about who she was designed after :P

The length couldn’t possibly be as criminal as Bioshock Infinites DLC. Either DLCs these days are usually short, the days of expansions such as Half Lifes “Opposing Force” seem to be over.

Crazy thing is with the controversy over Ellie’s appearance that Ellen Page came out the same day the DLC was released.
Yeah we can interpret their kiss as being just an innocent display of affection in a post apocalyptic world where standard concepts of sexuality no longer exist. But I think it was totally Naughty Dog’s intention to reveal that she was gay, just like whenever other fictional characters have a gay kiss and there’s no follow up on it to specify otherwise.
