Shad has answered these before, as have many other artists before him, myself included.
So allow me to answer them since I probably have a little bit more free time
1. I believe shad went to an art school(In Switzerland?), however learning techniques is one thing, applying them and mastering their usage is another.
You can’t really learn how to be an artist from anyone except yourself. people can help you develop your skill, but ultimately it will be you who has to work at that skill and feel out what you want to do as an artist.
You have a list of options as far as learning how to draw goes. Off the top of my head I’ll list some that would probably be the most beneficial to you.
Just pick up a pencil and start drawing, don’t worry about how much you perceive yourself as being shit, you don’t learn how to paint the Mona Lisa in a night, just keep drawing the weird shit that you feel would be neat to draw, even if you aren’t happy with how it comes out, just keep working at it. Do that shit everyday ,set some time for yourself to draw, you WILL get better.

Invest in a Drawing pad, (I recommend the Wacom Bamboo pads) and find a community drawing portal, that could be something like, Flockdraw or doodleordie, or something more socialnetworky, like deviant-art (or any of those other community drawing sites, Im sure you can figure it out.).
Go to an art school or art class in highschool or whatever.
They didn’t really help me out too much, infact they made me feel like drawing was more of a chore rather than an outlet for imagination.
It all really depends on what your attitude going into one is, If you’re there to really buckle down and learn what they have to teach you, go for it, if you hate school or feel like they have nothing to teach you, probably best to self teach.
Also if you want to be able to have a more traditional career as an artist, this would probably be the best route.
2 Mostly the same as 1. Spend alot of time thinking about how something would look with shadows/other effects rendered on it, or look at examples from the internet. Consider how colors and mesh together in nature, I’m sure some people could recommend some books depending on what kind of style you want to do. I say try working with colors for now, learn how to render them as you progress.
3. I’m pretty sure he uses Photoshop. If there’s something else, maybe you could deduce it from watching Shad’s videos.
4. Pop culture icons often spawn fantasies about the characters, it’s just human nature to grow attached to people you see everyday. Therefor since shad mostly makes money off of commissions, pop culture icons get drawn most of the time. Though, I do believe he has Plenty of original characters, But using characters from pop culture makes it easier to play on existing emotions toward those characters in erotica.
5. Now that I do not know, however I believe the answer is probably, “idunno”.
If he has plans for the future, I’m sure he is actively keeping them private, and really, Why would you even care? Are you some kind of employer looking for a resume?

While my phrasing could be more more indirect, Its more of my general philosophy rather than an instructional tutorial, As from what i can gather though my hours spent lurking through this site and reading some of shads comments. Its a philosophy that I, and many other people who have a passion for art, share.
I know that you wish to get to know shad better, but honestly, I don’t think he really has the time to type out some of the things you’re asking about!
If you REALLY want to get to know shad better, do what I did, create a profile for yourself here and talk to the community, he DOES answer people from time to time, and you can usually extract bits and pieces of his personality from them.
For the most part, he really does value many things about his life kept private, which, is REALLY understandable! Say that, at some point, this site becomes less profitable in the future, would you like to have YOUR name associated with a cumulative shitton of pornography which includes snuff, pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality, sadism, exhibitionism ETCETC. when your potential employer looks you up on the Internets?
PROBABLY NOT! and each time shad reveals more of himself to people, the greater chance he could give away JUST ENOUGH to reveal himself to people who like to fuck up other peoples lives (IE any chan based information website, EncyclopediaDramatica for instance.)
Also, my responses where probably as close to answers from shad as you are going to get.
Though I don’t really want to put words in shads mouth or spread false information, so I’ll just put up a disclaimer that that information MAY not be 100% accurate, however it is the nearest approximation I, as someone who wastes unhealthy amounts of hours reading comments from this site, can muster.
