This pinup was more part of a larger exercise in shading and doing skin in a way that it looks more like its stretched over muscles and bones. However I still wanted to have something coherent to show in the end so I made it a cheerleader pinup. I wont be striving for this much detail much, but its good to know how to do certain things, so I need to push myself beyond the familiar every now and then to get some new insight.
Due to all the experimenting in this one, its the most time I have ever spent drawing a single character piece, but I really think it was worth it given the amount of new things I have learned, Im probably going to go back to doing more simpler stuff again in the coming weeks, since Id really like to take a break from this type of detail.

I just went back through Shad’s early work and checked the dates and time between posts. Back in 2012-2014 Shad produced a quality comic page that all of us would love, in 2 days. Sometimes even 1 day! If it was a page he really needed to get right, he took 4 days. Today in 2020 it was 19 days between the last post and this. I have to ask: why? Do the higher quality single pages generate more revenue as printouts? Is the faster but slightly lower quality comic style just not worth it financially? I honestly want to know the reason for the change in philosophy of output.
