No More Heroes, had level exploration. This pretty much doesn’t. I’ts more in the genre of “dynasty warriors”. An open battlefield meat-fest.
You gotta keep in mind what’s interesting after sinking thousands of hours into it. Sure. It looks cool. But there’s no real “development”. (Like zelda usually has, in the shape of a dynamic/everchanging world, dynamic/ever-evolving character (Link for example), dynamic perception of things (aka, achieving items/pathways to overcome the same challenges/maps in different ways. And heart containers.)
This will be most similar to “Link’s Crossbow Training”. An absolute joke of a game. You get a target. You hit it. Target is eliminated. Next target. Same, with this game. Just a bunch of faceless enemies, which you have no drive/incentive to kill. Yet, it’s the only thing the game is about. ಠ_ಠ

I’ve only played the first 3 Metal Gears, and Three is my favorite. Hope you enjoy it shad. Its way different from the other two (and a lot more straight forward story wise), but in a good way. And I freaking love the ending. Its my favorite video game ending.
Also, I come baring Easter Easter eggs! One is an extremely mild spoiler, and one is a bigger but still not extremely spoilerey spoiler. I won’t give away plot details.
Slight spoiler warning: When you find the transmitter on snake, don’t remove it. It gives you a bonus cutscene later.
More Spoil-ier (but still not too much spoiler-ier) spoiler warning: When Snake is captured and in the jail cell, Save the game, listen to the conversation between Snake and Para-Medic. Then quit the game back to the main menu and reload your game. After the Easter Egg happens, call everyone on your codec for some funny shit.
Also, if you kill all the bosses by getting their stamina down to zero, you get a bonus item.
