The second pic is them after they’ve trained for a little while. They’re a bit dirty and sweating profusely
They are the same, the first one is just a little blurry so it’s harder to see the sweat and details. I can kinda see a bit of blue and red on the edges so I’m guessing it’s a bit 3D which explains the blurring.

They haven’t been 10 since the second game. They were over 18 years old in X and Y (a character who’s 16 refers to them asa grown-up and looks visibly smaller), 16 in Black and White, and about 12 in all but the first couple of generations.

It’s an effect achieved by shifting the red and green channels a few pixels.
Honestly, I can’t stand it when artists do this (Rajii does it a ton, for example) because it bothers my eyes and distracts me, but that’s personal preference. I wouldn’t dream of telling Shad what to do in a million years. Do what you want!
