Its been a few years since Samus's last game, so she is on vacation and put on some weight
Im trying to go for a new look, specifically in drawing girls for these custom strips, I listened to alot of criticism about not giving them enough detail and them having the same face, let me know what you think of this style, and weather you prefer it over the old one. There are new character sets/themes id like to try out with my custom comics, but id like to keep the style consistent and since a lot of you have probably gotten used to the way I did them before, its important for me to know what youd prefer visually before I start fleshing out the new ones.

Looks great Shad, the improvements are immense and very noticable! This style is better in my opinion, but I worry that making these comics will take too long with this level of detail.

I didn’t see it as everyone having the same face, I just saw it as the “Shad Style.” And I’ve long been against the new spray style coloring that you adopted with the Samus Breeding pinup. I liked the old, more cartoon-y style. This is okay, but I don’t get the same ‘shad’ feel from it.
All artists have to evolve at some point. I feel shads style has stagnated for way to long. This experimentation we’ve been getting for the more recent posts have been great.

thanks for noticing, Ive been getting faster thanks to the things I learned during those week long delays. I absolutely should be able to keep up a consistent 2 page per week upload schedule going now, it wont always be 3 pages like it was this week. And some weeks there may be only 1 page if its an extra large one with 20 pannels.

The guro phase was from way back when I was a edgy teenager, I very quickly lost interest in that cause I was never really into it, I drew it more out of curiosity to sexualize grotesque violence and then people where commissioning it so I was forced to do it for a while to fulfill those commissions. The Loli thing was a very similar situation, where Im much more into drawing large asses and large breasts, the loli stuff had this edgy factor that gave me alot of attention, with my low self esteem as an artist back then I always figured being extreme and conroversial is the only way I can get attention and make it as an independent artist, then after I was geting a lot of shit for it, I felt like if I back down everybody would see me as a coward that doesnt stand up for freedom of speech and lets himself get censored, so I just kept pushing it to a ridiculous extent. I was essentially just being really sill and immature like I usually tended to be. Luckily I have grown more confidence since then and really see no point in drawing stuff if Im not interested in and care less what people may think if I dont do it anymore, I also dont want to draw stuff for attention and would rather just work on getting better in general. There are plenty of themes to explore outside of that which Im actually into drawing. Without the pressure of needing to be extreme and controversial Im far happier when it comes to drawing nowadays.

During the 3 weeks where I was off the internet I had a lot of time to really look back on things and consider why I started shadbase and what kind of mindset I was in at the time I was considering that perhaps I have mentally outgrown it and shouldnt still be here as an adult drawing weird shit all the time, its strange to essentially go through my bratty teenage phase, and all those important developmental years online while putting out drawings every week for years without ever stopping, but after a few weeks off all I really could think about is how much I really loved drawing for shadbase and would like to keep making stuff cause its been a really important companion throughout my life. I cannot predict how things will turn out and if people will even like the new stuff ill be doing, but I know that I want nothing more than to keep on drawing.

I really like the wide range of vibrant colors with this comic. It really makes me feel like it’s summer even though I’m completely snowed in. The faces are well-done, of course, but I never had any complaints with your old style. This one actially made me wonder if you did a collab. It’s closer to more “mainstream” porn art styles and maybe I’m just a change-hating faggot, but it feels more generic and less “you”.

I think more nuance in expression and overall detail will make the erotic scenes more interesting, but I agree that for purely comedy focused comics I suppose all the extra work is often times not necessary, but when I try to merge the to together I wonder what suits better.
